Our after-school jiu jitsu programs are designed to help children and teens build confidence, coordination, and resilience through structured, age-appropriate training. Across all age groups, we emphasize safe grappling fundamentals, positive coaching, and a supportive team environment where students can grow both on and off the mat.
Our teaching approach is influenced by modern child development research and prioritizes guided play, exploration, and engagement, especially for younger students. As children grow, classes gradually become more structured and technically focused, preparing them for long-term progress in jiu jitsu, whether their goals are confidence, fitness, or competition. All youth classes balance discipline with fun, challenge with encouragement, and structure with creativity.

Our youngest students are introduced to jiu jitsu in fun, creative ways that keep them engaged and excited to learn. Classes use carefully designed games to teach essential grappling movements, balance, and body awareness while helping kids build focus, teamwork, and confidence. Shorter class times help students stay attentive and leave class eager to return.

For pre-teens, training becomes more structured while still retaining elements of playful learning. Students develop core jiu jitsu techniques, learn to work cooperatively with training partners, and begin to understand the rules and strategies of the sport. This age group is ideal for building confidence, discipline, and a strong technical foundation — whether or not a student plans to compete.

Our teen program provides a dedicated space for older students to refine their technique, participate in focused live sparring, and train with greater intensity. For those interested in competition, we introduce tournament rules and strategy in a safe, supportive setting. With coach approval, teens may also begin training in adult classes, helping prepare them for long-term progression in the sport.
